Gwen is an acclaimed belly dance instructor and performer based in Oxford, UK.
She began dancing at the age of 3, and has studied many styles in addition to training in gymnastics. Performing and teaching bellydance for over two decades, she has studied the Egyptian style extensively through many world-renowned master teachers and performers.
Known for her Egyptian and theatrical fusion bellydance, Gwen blends elements from western dance forms with Egyptian bellydance into a unique, sophisticated and graceful fusion. Audiences praise her elegance, poise, expressivity and musicality. She is known for elegant, inventive and dramatic choreography and performance and has danced and taught across the UK and Europe.
Students and dance colleagues describe her as a gifted and inspirational teacher with a wealth of knoweldge and experience to share. Qualified as a teacher and mentor with Bellydance Now (formerly known as JWAAD), Gwen has a wealth of experience in training dancers and bellydance teachers and is an experienced competition judge.
Gwen is also one of the few belly dance teachers in the UK certified in the Salimpour Belly dance formats and has found he training hugely beneficial for strong, precise dancing. She has toured Europe as a performer with with Bal Anat , the world's longest-running Bellydance company, and for many years was Principal Soloist with the prestigious Johara Dance Company.
At the moment, Gwen offers individual lessons and coaching for dancers, workshops, and high quality performance in Egyptian and theatrical fusion bellydance.
